I lived with my Mom at 1009 Mill Street in Alva, Oklahoma. My Grandparents lived at 1007 Mill Street. The family had been there for YEARS. Across the street there was a grain elevator. it was HUGE. i remember having an irrational fear of it falling and crushing our house. Each one of the pictures on this page has the grain elevator in the shot. sometimes you have to look hard for it... sometimes it's more obvious than the subject of the photo. I found 4 generations in front of that elevator! I remember when I was little that thing was the object that taught me the concept of “big”.
